Registered Nurse (RN)

How to Become A Registered Nurse

Step 1- I must graduate from High School and receive my diploma and decide what kind of nurse i want to be for example:

there are specialities in each of those nursing branches, i need to find the nursing job that suits me and my overall goals.
( Registered Nurse, Nurse Practitioner, Licensed Vocational Nurse, or a Certified Medical Assistant)

     Step 2- Get an Education

Most nursing jobs require some sort of college degree. i need anything with an associate's degree or higher. The most common degree's out there are:
  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN)
  • Certificate of Nursing
  • Associate’s Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP)

    Step 3- Get Certified

Once i complete my training program, i will need to take an exam to get certified in my profession. If i train to be a nursing assistant i would soon become a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

    Step 4- Get a Job

With all of my credentials in place, i can begin to look for a job. Registered Nurses are able to work in Hospitals, Doctor's Offices, Healthcare Clinics, Nursing Homes etc..... Some RN's even operate their own practices.

      Step 5- Continue My Education

My basic nursing degree may not be enough to sustain my career as a nurse. i can continue to go to school and specialize classes to stay up to date on advances in the medical field, and i can enjoy the rewards of this career for years to come.
